BECOMING A VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER
The Buda Fire Department is always looking for well rounded, enthusiastic people to join our team. The main thing you need to make sure of before considering a role here at the fire department is time. While the personal satisfaction in a job well done here at the BFD is tremendous, the training required to become a firefighter or first responder is considerable, and never ending. In addition the actual calls will take you away from your families and other activities at unpredictable times. At times, you may be put at considerable self risk due to the nature of our duties. If we haven't scared you away yet, please read on. If this all sounds like something you'd be interested in, you must meet all of the following requriements:
• You must be 18 years of age or older
• You must have a valid drivers license, and be a U.S. Citizen
• No previous felony convictions (Must pass extensive backround check)
• Must be available the Second and Fourth Monday's of every month from 7pm - 10pm
• Must complete the BFD volunteer cadet school (Begins in January of each year)
• Reside in the Buda Fire District
If you meet the above requirements we invite you to fill out the application below. You can stop by the main station M-F from 8am-5pm, or on the Second and Fourth Monday of every month at 7pm to submit an application and sit in on one of our training meetings.
